3. Service Agreement & Contract Terms
Effective Date: February 18, 2026
This Service Agreement ("Agreement") sets forth the terms under which Mountain Tint provides window tinting, paint protection film (PPF), and related services to customers. By scheduling, authorizing, or paying for services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Agreement.
3.1 Scope of Services
Mountain Tint provides the following services: automotive window tinting, residential window tinting, commercial window tinting, and paint protection film (PPF). The specific services, materials, tint levels, and pricing for your project will be confirmed via a written or verbal quote prior to the commencement of work.
3.2 Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are estimates based on the information provided and are subject to adjustment upon physical inspection of the vehicle or property. Final pricing will be confirmed before work begins. Prices are subject to change without notice for future bookings.
3.3 Scheduling & Appointments
Appointments are scheduled in advance and are subject to availability. Please ensure your vehicle or property is accessible at the scheduled time. We ask for a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late arrivals of 20 minutes or more may require rescheduling at our discretion. Mountain Tint reserves the right to reschedule due to weather, equipment issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, with reasonable advance notice provided.
3.4 Customer Responsibilities Prior to Service
Prior to your appointment, customers are responsible for:
Ensuring the vehicle interior is reasonably clean and free of personal items near the windows.
Removing any existing tint, adhesive, or window accessories unless tint removal has been arranged as part of the service.
Disclosing any known defects, cracks, chips, or pre-existing damage to windows.
We are not responsible for damage to, or poor adhesion caused by, pre-existing defects that were not disclosed or discoverable upon reasonable inspection.
3.5 Payment Terms
Full payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods as posted at our location. A deposit may be required for large commercial or residential projects. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee plus any bank charges incurred.
3.6 Warranty
Mountain Tint stands behind the quality of our work. Our window tint installations are backed by a manufacturer's warranty that covers defects including bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination, and significant color change under normal use. Warranty terms vary by film brand and type — please ask us for specific warranty documentation for your installation.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from: improper cleaning or care, use of abrasive or ammonia-based cleaners, physical scratches or damage, rear window defroster damage, vehicle modifications after installation, or any other cause not attributable to a material or workmanship defect.
Paint protection film warranties are provided directly by the film manufacturer. We will assist you in initiating a manufacturer warranty claim if applicable.
3.7 UTAH WINDOW TINT LAW — CUSTOMER LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY
Utah law regulates the visible light transmission (VLT%) allowable for vehicle window tint on public roads under Utah Code § 41-6a-1635. As of the effective date of this Agreement, the general requirements for non-commercial passenger vehicles are:
Windshield: non-reflective tint permitted on the top 4 inches only.
Front side windows (driver and passenger): must allow more than 43% of light in (43% VLT minimum).
Back side windows: any darkness is permitted.
Rear window: any darkness is permitted, provided the vehicle has dual outside rearview mirrors.
Reflectivity: tint may not be more than 20% reflective on any window.
IMPORTANT: IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER to verify current Utah tint laws and to select a tint level that complies with all applicable state and local regulations before authorizing installation. Laws are subject to change, and Mountain Tint's information is provided as a general guide only — not as legal advice.
By selecting a specific tint level, you acknowledge that you have been informed of these regulations, that you understand your selected tint level may or may not be street-legal depending on your vehicle type and jurisdiction, and that you accept full legal responsibility for ensuring compliance. Mountain Tint is not liable for any citations, fines, failed vehicle inspections, or legal penalties resulting from the customer's tint selection.
3.8 Tint Curing Period — Care Instructions
Freshly installed window film requires a curing period of approximately 3 to 7 days under normal conditions. Curing may take longer in cold weather. During the curing period:
Do not roll down tinted windows for a minimum of 3 days.
Do not clean the interior surface of tinted windows for a minimum of 7 days.
Small water bubbles or a hazy appearance during the curing period are normal and will dissipate as the film cures.
If bubbles, cloudiness, or imperfections remain after 30 days, contact us to assess whether a warranty claim is appropriate.
3.9 Cancellations & Refunds
We request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may result in a cancellation fee of up to $50 if materials were pre-cut or labor was reserved for your appointment. Refunds are not issued for completed services except in cases of a confirmed workmanship defect covered under warranty.
3.10 Limitation of Liability
In the event that Mountain Tint causes damage to your vehicle or property through direct negligence, our liability is limited to the documented cost of repair or replacement of the damaged component, not to exceed the total amount paid for the service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. We are not responsible for items left in vehicles during service.
3.11 Authorization
By scheduling a service appointment and authorizing work to begin, you represent that you are the legal owner of the vehicle or property, or that you have been expressly authorized by the legal owner to approve modifications. You agree to be personally responsible for all charges associated with the services rendered.
3.12 Governing Law & Disputes
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through direct, good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or small claims court in Davis County, Utah.
